Conformance target

This website has been designed and built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, as required by the harmonised European standard EN 301 549 v3.2.1 and by Directive (EU) 2016/2102, transposed into Greek law by Law 4727/2020. This follows the communication guide of the action RESEARCH – INNOVATE and the ESPA 2021–2027 rules on accessible communication for persons with disabilities.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, a logical heading order and a “skip to main content” link.
  • Everything works with the keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
  • Text and interface colours meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1; colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout reflows down to a 320 px wide screen without horizontal scrolling.
  • Images have text alternatives; figure labels, charts and the work plan are provided as real text and data tables.
  • Animation is subtle, can be paused, and is switched off automatically when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The contact form has visible labels, clear error messages and announces its status to assistive technology.
  • Each page declares its language (English or Greek); passages in another language are marked.

Display preferences

The “Display” button at the top of every page lets you enlarge the text, switch to a high-contrast theme, underline all links and pause animations. Your choice is remembered on your device only.

Known limitations

  • The funding strip and partner logos are images of text supplied by their owners; they carry full text alternatives.
  • The contact form needs JavaScript, because it is protected against automated submissions. Without JavaScript, please use the telephone number or the postal address on the contact page.
  • Documents published by third parties and linked from this website may not be fully accessible.
